1.American Process: It involves oxidation of ores of Zinc mixed with Anthrocite at a temperature of 900°C and conversion of metalic vapours to oxide. The purity of Zinc Oxide so obtained is low. The method is generally not preferred in India.
2.French Process: Zinc metal (High grade/Special High grade) with purity 99.5% is used as raw meterial.
Zinc oxide is manufactured by oxidizing zinc vapour in furnace. Zinc metal is first taken in a crucible which is heated by the use of furnace oil.
